When will my call be returned?
Messages are picked up Monday through Friday, and we make every effort to get back to you ASAP, but weather, families, jobs may slow this process. We have established a Holiday Schedule. On the following days no calls will be returned, and no deliveries will be made: Memorial Day 4th of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Christmas New Year’s Day Please remember that we are a 100% volunteer organization. Many of us have jobs and families as well. That being said, please do not call for assistance until such a time that you will be able to take or return calls for assistance and scheduling deliveries What kind of food is delivered? Individuals and families receive a variety of non-perishable groceries, including canned or jar goods (beans, jelly, fruit, chicken, peanut butter, soup, spaghetti sauce, tuna, and vegetables), rice, beans, pasta products, and miscellaneous donated foods. Also, we buy bread, eggs, cheese, meats and fresh produce. Dietary and special requests are honored when possible. How much food is delivered? We deliver 3 – 5 days of food to individuals and families. The amount of food depends on the size of the family. How often can an individuals and families call for food? Individuals and families may receive food as often as once every 30 days. Do you have infant supplies? Diapers, and depending on what has been donated, we may have wipes, formula, baby food, , and other miscellaneous items available for families. Do you offer Financial Assistance? Yes – we provide limited financial assistance to help with rent, mortgage, utilities, prescriptions, and many other special needs. Olney Help is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Olney HELP assists Montgomery County individuals and families in our service areas of Olney, Brookeville, Sandy Spring, Ashton, and Brinklow. in the form of emergency food, holiday gift baskets, and emergency financial assistance.
